Here at Jobs Expo, we are delighted to announce that the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) will be exhibiting at our Galway event this Saturday in the Galmont Hotel. If you are thinking of returning to education, upskilling or doing an apprenticeship, make sure to stop by their stand.
Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) plays a pivotal role in advancing education, training, and youth services across the region. GRETB, with a workforce exceeding 2,200 individuals, is dedicated to recruiting, and nurturing talented professionals who share their commitment to advancing education and training in Galway and Roscommon.
Covering a vast geographical area, GRETB is the second largest Education and Training Board (ETB) nationally and encompasses four offshore islands. Their commitment to promoting the Irish language, particularly in the Gaeltacht region of County Galway, underscores their dedication to cultural preservation and enhancement.
At GRETB, they actively engage in social and economic development initiatives throughout Galway and Roscommon, collaborating with esteemed partners such as the Department of Education, SOLAS, local councils, academic institutions, and various industry stakeholders.
Their emphasis on lifelong learning is evident in their extensive education and training programs, which served over 21,000 learners in 2021 alone. With a patronage of 19 Community Colleges, 2 Community National Schools (CNS), and co-trusteeship of 8 Community and Comprehensive schools, GRETB plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of the region.
Furthermore, their 40 Further Education and Training (FET) centres cater to diverse learning needs, including the provision of learner support and inclusion as well as guidance, information, and recruitment. Their management of youth work services and Music Generation initiatives further enrich the cultural and educational fabric of Galway and Roscommon.
