Graciete boasts over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Originally from Portugal, she moved to Australia in 1987, a decision she cherishes. Despite attending eight different schools in her youth, Graciete became highly adaptable. She embraces FOMO (fear of missing out) and is always eager to try new things, especially if told she cannot.
As the director of Pacific Formwork Pty Ltd, Precast Projects, and Formcast, Graciete has helped establish and grow these companies, now managed by the next generation. Her dedication to construction safety and female participation led to her historic election as the first subcontractor and female President of Master Builders ACT. She also became the first woman elected to the MBA National Board, where she now chairs the national Finance committee. Additionally, Graciete serves on various construction, training, safety and charity boards, and is the president of the Canberra Portuguese Association.
Graciete is committed to community service, frequently raising funds and awareness. She has participated in the CEO Sleepout multiple times and completed the Oxfam 50km trail walk in 2022. Her achievements have earned her the NAWIC (ACT) Crystal Vision Award and the Order of Merit Gold Medal from the Portuguese Government.
