The US shipping software start-up, Shippo, has announced its plans to hire for 120 new positions in Dublin following the arrival of its new European R&D centre.
The company valued at $1 billion and backed by Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe allows e-commerce businesses to connect to a range of shipping carriers worldwide. Companies can also utilise the platform to track shipments, automate internal documents, print labels, retrieve shipping rates and arrange returns.
The Dublin office will grow to have engineering, product, and design teams. The move to Dublin is part of Shippo’s plans to expand internationally. Shippo was established in 2013 in San Francisco and was valued at $1 billion last year.
They have already taken on Ashutosh Saxena, the tech veteran as their site lead and the head of engineering for the whole of Europe. Ashutosh will oversee all day-to-day operations in the Dublin office. He will also play a major role in leading Shippo’s expansion throughout all of Europe and managing and building out the engineering team.
